Phase 1: The Foundation of Sound (Makharij & Sifaat)

Before learning the rules of connection, a student must master the individual letters.

• Lesson 1: Makharij al-Huroof (Articulation Points) – Identifying the 17 specific areas in the throat, tongue, and lips where sounds originate.

• Lesson 2: Sifaat al-Huroof (Characteristics of Letters) – Learning which letters are “heavy” (Tafkheem) and which are “light” (Tarqeeq).

• Lesson 3: Correcting Common Mistakes – Focusing on letters that non-Arabic speakers often confuse (e.g., matching the sounds of ‘Ha’ vs ‘Haa’ or ‘Zal’ vs ‘Zay’).

Phase 2: The Rules of Nun and Meem (The Core of Tajweed)

These rules form the most frequent part of Quran recitation with Tajweed.

• Lesson 4: Noon Sakin & Tanween – Mastering the four main rules:

  • Izhaar (Clarity)

  • Idghaam (Merging)

  • Iqlab (Conversion)

  • Ikhfa (Hiding)

• Lesson 5: Meem Sakin Rules – Learning Izhaar-e-Shafawi, Idghaam-e-Shafawi, and Ikhfa-e-Shafawi.

• Lesson 6: Noon and Meem Mushaddad – Understanding the rules and timing of Ghunnah (nasal sound).

Phase 3: Elongation and Emphasis (Madd & Qalqalah)

This phase adds the “melody” and flow to your recitation.

• Lesson 7: The Rules of Madd (Long Vowels) – Learning when to stretch a sound for 2, 4, or 6 beats (Madd Muttasil, Munfasil, and Arid Lil-Sukoon).

• Lesson 8: The Rules of Qalqalah (Echoing Sounds) – Mastering the five “bouncing” letters when they carry a Sukoon.

• Lesson 9: Rules of Laam and Raa – Understanding when the word “Allah” is pronounced heavily and when the letter ‘Raa’ is thin.

Phase 4: Advanced Fluency and Application

• Lesson 10: Rules of Waqf (Stopping & Starting) – Learning the symbols in the Quran that tell you where it is mandatory, better, or forbidden to stop.

• Lesson 11: Hamzatul Wasl – How to begin recitation with a connecting Hamza.

• Lesson 12: Practical Application (Juz Amma) – Applying all learned Tajweed rules for beginners to short Surahs with the teacher’s guidance.

At Quran Mubeen Academy, we provide a structured learning path divided into four progressive levels. Whether you are starting from zero or looking to earn an Ijazah, our Online Tajweed Course levels are designed to match your specific needs and pace.

Level 1: Foundational Tajweed (Beginner)

Goal: To master the building blocks of Arabic phonetics.
This level is perfect for those who have just finished the Noorani Qaida and want to start applying Tajweed rules for beginners.

• Focus: Correct Makharij (Articulation Points) of all 29 letters.

• Key Rules: Basic vowel sounds (Harakat), Maddah letters (Alif, Waw, Ya), and the difference between similar-sounding letters.

• Practical: Reading short words and phrases with the correct accent.

Level 2: Core Tajweed Rules (Intermediate)

Goal: To apply the most common rules found in the Holy Quran.
In this level, we dive into the “heart” of the Quran Tajweed Course. Most students begin to feel a significant change in their recitation here.

• Focus: Rules of Noon Sakinah & Tanween (Izhaar, Idghaam, Iqlab, Ikhfa).[1]

• Key Rules: Rules of Meem Sakinah, the timing of Ghunnah (nasal sounds), and the 5 letters of Qalqalah (echoing sounds).

• Practical: Reciting the last 10 Surahs of the Quran with 100% rule application.

Level 3: Advanced Precision & Fluency

Goal: To achieve a professional and melodic flow in recitation.
This level focuses on the fine details that distinguish a “reader” from a “reciter.”

• Focus: Advanced types of Madd (elongation up to 6 beats) and the Sifaat (Characteristics) of letters.

• Key Rules: Tafkheem & Tarqeeq (Heavy and Light letters), rules of the word “Allah,” and mastering the Rules of Raa.

• Practical: Reciting long passages of the Quran with smooth transitions and zero pronunciation errors.

Level 4: Mastery & Waqf (Advanced)

Goal: To understand the science of stopping and starting.
This is our highest level, preparing students for independent recitation or Hifz (memorization).

• Focus: The science of Waqf & Ibtida (Stopping and Starting).[1]

• Key Rules: Understanding the small symbols in the Quran, perfecting breath control, and advanced phonetic relationships between letters.

• Practical: Full assessment of Juz Amma (30th Para) to ensure professional fluency.
